Counseling for Teens

Our Systems approach means parents’ input and involvement is valued and utilized

We have dedicated teen rooms

In Between

They’re not young kids but they aren’t adults. They want freedom but they still need structure and support. Developing a safe haven and secure base is more important than ever as teens begin prepare for adulthood.

Task: Identity Formation

Sometimes we call this process rebellion. Teens are forming their own identity. Often this starts by them asserting who they’re aren’t -their parents. Within limits, this is normal and appropriate.

Brain Damaged

Physiclogically, the teen brain settings are being reset. Old structures are breaking down and new ones are forming. Author Daniel Segal calls this brain damage.

“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths."

-Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The therapy process supports the caregivers.

Parents and caregivers, you are your teen's greatest support and know the teen best. Therefore, we always try to start the process with a parent session.

Our approach

Weekly sessions are important, especially at first. This gives the teen an oportunity to get familiar with the room and the therapist.
