Counseling deepens and widens the support system of the client by partnering with the parents of the child/teen as the experts of their child. As a therapist I connect with the client, curate tools and interventions, and guide the process to facilitate the meeting of goals outlined together.
I counsel children, teens, and families. I utilize an attachment based framework with all of my clients while integrating talk and play based therapy. Within play therapy, I pull from directive techniques and modalities including Adlerian Play Therapy and Theraplay. I specialize in addressing anxiety, ADHD, autism, grief, divorce, adoption, and transitions. My background as a collegiate athlete also provides me insight to help with sports related stress in teens and parents today.
I graduated from Belmont University with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am supervised by Summer Curwen, LMFT (License #1196) and pursuing my certification as a registered play therapist under Dr. Joni Batts, LMFT, RPT-S (License #1111).
In my free time, I can be found cuddling my poodle, Pepper, enjoying a spin class, or listening to either the Crime Junkie podcast or Taylor Swift.
